Aunory Terms of Service

Pending legal review. A lawyer has not read this document. It is published so you can see what it says before you agree to it, and it may change once it has been reviewed. First written 22 September 2026.

These terms cover your use of Aunory. Plain language on purpose; where a sentence has legal weight it is meant to, and where something is not settled yet this page says so.

1. The agreement

By creating an Aunory account you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you are confirming you have authority to do so, and "you" means that business.

If you do not agree, do not create an account.

2. What Aunory does

Aunory analyses business data you provide — a file you upload or a system you connect — and produces observations, suggested priorities and draft messages. It is a decision-support tool. It does not make decisions for you, and nothing it produces is professional advice: not financial, not legal, not accounting, not medical, not employment.

Some outputs are generated by an AI model. They can be wrong. They can be confidently wrong. Check anything that matters before acting on it, and do not send a draft message to a customer without reading it.

3. Your account

Keep your login credentials to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has them. You are responsible for activity under your account.

One account is for one business. Team access, where available, is granted through Aunory rather than by sharing a password.

4. Your data, and the rights you need to have

You keep ownership of everything you upload or connect. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your data, process it, send relevant parts to the providers listed in Subprocessors, and show you the results.

Because your data is usually about other people — your members, customers or leads — you confirm that:

  • You have the right to give it to us and to have it processed this way.
  • You have given whatever notices and obtained whatever consents your own local law requires.
  • You will not upload data you are contractually or legally barred from sharing with a processor.

This matters for outreach in particular. When Aunory drafts a message to someone who enquired at your business, the anti-spam and data-protection obligations for sending it are yours, not ours. We draft; you decide whether and when to send.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train AI models. See Privacy policy.

5. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • Upload data you do not have the right to share, or data belonging to someone who has asked you to erase it.
  • Upload payment card numbers, government identity numbers, or health records. Aunory is not built for those categories and does not claim compliance with the regimes that govern them.
  • Use Aunory to harass anyone, or to send messages that break anti-spam law where you or your recipients are.
  • Attempt to reach another customer's data, probe or circumvent access controls, or test the service's security without written permission.
  • Resell the service, scrape it, or use automated means to extract bulk output beyond normal use.
  • Reverse-engineer the service, except where local law says you may regardless of this sentence.

6. Availability, and the stage this product is at

Aunory is early-stage software. We will try to keep it running and to fix things quickly, but:

  • There is no uptime commitment and no service-level agreement.
  • Features can change or be removed. Analysis behaviour can change as models and methods improve, which means the same file may produce different output later.
  • Scheduled processing can be delayed or missed.

If we ever offer an SLA it will be a separate written agreement, not this page.

7. Payment

Fees. The fee for a paid plan is the one shown at checkout for the plan you choose. Fees are stated in US dollars.

Billing. Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe, monthly, and renew automatically for further monthly terms until cancelled. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach Aunory.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period unless the law where you are says otherwise.

Changes to fees. We may change our fees. A change takes effect at your next renewal, and we will give you at least 30 days' notice before it does. If you do not want to continue at the new fee, cancel before that renewal.

Taxes. Fees are exclusive of sales, use, VAT, GST and similar taxes. You are responsible for those, except for taxes on our own income.

Failed payments. If a charge is declined we may retry it and may suspend access to paid features while the account is past due. We will tell you before suspending.

Pricing errors. Prices shown elsewhere in the product or on our website may be out of date or wrong. Where a displayed price and the price at checkout disagree, the price at checkout is the one that applies, and we will correct the other. If you were charged because of our error, tell us and we will refund the difference.

8. Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account. Deletion is described in the privacy policy, including what it can and cannot reach.

We can suspend or close an account that breaches section 5, that we are legally required to close, or that is causing harm to the service or to other customers. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it — except where the breach is serious or telling you first would make it worse. If we close your account without cause, we will refund the unused part of your current period.

After closure we delete your data as described in the privacy policy.

9. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate.

You are responsible for deciding whether an output is right for your business before you act on it.

10. Limitation of liability

No indirect damages. To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill, or lost or corrupted data, however caused and on any theory of liability, even if that party was told such damages were possible.

Cap. Each party's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the total fees you paid us in the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. Where more than one claim arises, this is a single cap across all of them, not a cap per claim.

What the cap does not cover. The limits above do not apply to:

  • liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law;
  • death or personal injury caused by negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • a party's gross negligence or wilful misconduct;
  • your obligation to pay fees properly due; or
  • either party's indemnification obligations under these terms.

Allocation of risk. The limits in this section are an agreed allocation of risk between us, they reflect the fees charged, and they apply even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces your rights we will give reasonable notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use Aunory after that means you accept the new version. The history of this file is the record of what changed and when.

12. Governing law and venue

Aunory is operated by a company established in the United States.

Governing law. These terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to your use of Aunory, are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE — NOT YET CHOSEN] and the federal laws of the United States that apply there, without giving effect to any conflict-of-laws rule that would apply the law of another jurisdiction. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Venue. The state and federal courts located in that same State have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, and both of us submit to that jurisdiction and waive any objection to it on grounds of venue or forum.

Jury trial. To the extent the law allows, each of us waives any right to a jury trial in any proceeding arising out of or relating to these terms.

One blank remains, and it is deliberate. The state has not been chosen. It appears once, above, and the venue clause points back to it rather than naming a state of its own — so filling in one name settles both, and the two can never disagree. Until that name is filled in, treat this section as unsettled: a governing-law clause naming no state does not tell you which court would hear a dispute.
